Rough Country Shock Comparison: N3 vs M1 vs V2 vs Vertex

Rough Country Shock Comparison: N3 vs M1 vs V2 vs Vertex

Rough Country N3, M1, V2, and Vertex are different packages on product titles. Height on a lift kit does not tell you which series is in the box. Pick the series in the title, then open that listing. This comparison uses kits Off-Road.ca actually lists as ACTIVE. Catalogs: truck lift kits · truck coilovers.

Some product bodies repeat the same paragraph across N3, M1, and Vertex/V2 titles. When that happens, trust the title and the options on the page, then read the notes in full.

What is N3 on the listings we checked?

N3 appears in these titles. The F-150 3-inch page describes N3 lifted struts and N3 nitrogen-charged shocks. The Tacoma 3.5-inch N3 page describes N3 nitrogen-charged shocks and loaded N3 struts. The Sierra 3.5-inch N3 page describes N3 shocks with 10-stage variable valving, high-pressure nitrogen, an 18 mm spring-loaded piston rod, and a 54 mm shock body.

What is M1 on the listings we checked?

M1 is in these titles. The Tacoma 3.5-inch M1 page describes loaded M1 struts and application-valved M1 shocks. The Ram 3-inch M1 title is “M1 Struts/M1”; that page’s exclusions include no TRX and no factory air ride. The Ram 4-inch title is “M1 Struts”; that page’s body also mentions rear N3 shocks — read the product.

What is V2 on this store?

V2 appears in product titles. One confirmed truck example: 3.5 Inch Lift Kit | Mono Leaf Rear | Vertex/V2 | GMC Sierra 1500 (19-23). The store also lists Super Duty kits with V2 in the title. We are not inventing V2 valving specs beyond what a given product page states. Open the V2-titled listing for your truck; if the body copy still reads like an N3 paragraph, use the title and ask Off-Road.ca before you checkout.

We did not confirm a V2-titled F-150 2014–2020, Ram 2012–2018, or Tacoma 2005–2023 kit in the searches for this article. Filter truck lift kits for V2 plus your year/model rather than assuming a twin exists.

What is Vertex on the listings we checked?

Vertex UTV kits we confirmed:

Those two Vertex kits are not interchangeable. Pioneer 1000 / 1000-5 is not UFORCE 1000 / 1000XL. Truck Vertex appears in some Sierra titles (for example Vertex/V2). For truck coilovers, also use truck coilovers.

Which listing should you open?

  • If you want N3 in the title on a Tacoma / F-150 / Ram / Sierra kit we listed: use the N3 URLs above.
  • If you want M1 in the title: use the M1 URLs above.
  • If you want Vertex on a Pioneer 1000 / 1000-5: the Pioneer Vertex URL.
  • If you want Vertex on a UFORCE 1000 / 1000XL: the UFORCE Vertex URL.
  • If you want V2 in the title on a 2019–2023 Sierra 3.5-inch kit: the Sierra Vertex/V2 URL — then read the full page.

Do not mix leftover N3 and M1 boxes from two kits and expect one supported SKU.

Frequently asked questions

Can I swap N3 shocks onto an M1 kit after the fact?

The product pages we used do not describe that as a supported mix. Buy the kit whose title already has the series you want.

Is Pioneer Vertex the same as UFORCE Vertex?

No. Separate titles, separate URLs, different warranty sentences on those two pages.

Do you have a V2 F-150 kit linked here?

Not in the confirmed set for this article. Filter lift kits for F-150 and V2, or email info@off-road.ca.

Where do I buy these in Canada?

Off-Road.ca, CAD pricing, North York shipping. Start in lift kits or coilovers and open the SKU that lists your year and model.
