What is a leveling kit?
On the live listings we checked, a leveling kit is a front-height correction. Rough Country’s F-150 2-inch kit uses strut extensions and states you do not disassemble the factory strut. The Ram 1500 2019–2023 2-inch kit uses strut preload spacers and states you must disassemble the strut. The Tacoma 2-inch kit uses aluminum strut spacers that bolt to the strut. None of those three titles is a 3-inch, 4-inch, or 6-inch lift kit.
What is a lift kit?
A lift kit on this site is titled as a lift (for example 3-inch, 3.5-inch, 4-inch, or 6-inch) and includes the suspension pieces listed on that page — struts, shocks, arms, blocks, or crossmembers as written. Examples we confirmed: Tacoma 3.5-inch UCA kits, F-150 3-inch and 6-inch 4WD kits, Ram 1500 3-inch and 4-inch 2012–2018 / Classic 4WD kits.
When is a leveling kit the right buy?
Choose a level when you want the nose up to match the rear, you are staying close to stock ride, and the product’s listed tire combinations are enough. Confirmed leveling listings:

- 2 Inch Leveling Kit | Ram 1500 2WD/4WD (2019-2023) — front-only; requires strut disassembly; 1–3 hours; does not fit TRX, off-road package, or factory air ride. Maximum tire width stated as 11.5 inches or 295 mm. The same page lists specific 295/60R20 and 33x12.50 combinations with trimming notes — use that table, not a guess.

When is a lift kit the right buy?
Choose a lift when the listing you want is titled as a lift and you need that height, the tire room on that page, or the extra parts (UCAs, blocks, knuckles, crossmembers) that page includes. Confirmed examples:
- F-150 3-inch N3 (2014–2020 4WD) — up to 34-inch tires on that listing; no regular cab.
- F-150 6-inch N3 (2015–2020 4WD) — up to 35-inch tires with proper wheel spacing; knuckles and crossmembers on that copy.
- Tacoma 3.5-inch N3 UCA (2005–2023 4WD) — not the 2-inch Tacoma spacer.
- Ram 1500 3-inch M1 (2012–2018 & Classic 4WD) and Ram 1500 4-inch M1 — Classic generation, not the 2019–2023 leveling spacer.

Strut extension vs preload spacer vs lift hardware
The F-150 2-inch kit is a composite strut extension with a driver- and passenger-side pattern; the listing says you do not take the strut apart. The Ram 2019–2023 2-inch kit is a preload spacer and the listing says the strut must come apart. The Tacoma 2-inch kit bolts spacers to the strut. None of those is a substitute for an F-150 6-inch kit with knuckles and crossmembers, or a Ram 4-inch kit whose listing includes crossmembers and knuckles.

- If you have an F-150 that matches 2009–2023 / Raptor 2017–18 and you only want 2 inches in front: F-150 2-inch leveling kit — after checking CCD, Tremor, and Raptor exclusions on that page.
- If you have a 2019–2023 Ram 1500 and only want the front up: Ram 2-inch 2019–2023 level — after TRX, off-road package, and air-ride notes.
- If you want 3 inches or 6 inches on an F-150 4WD in the titled years: the 3-inch or 6-inch lift listings.

Will a leveling kit let me run 35-inch tires?
Not on the F-150 2-inch listing we checked — that page discusses up to 33-inch tires on listed wheel combinations. The F-150 6-inch lift listing is the one that states up to 35-inch tires with proper wheel spacing. Always use the tire section on the product you buy.
Do I still need an alignment?
Yes after a height change. The product pages do not include alignment as a line item in the kit box.
Is the Ram 2019–2023 2-inch kit a lift?
No. The title is 2 Inch Leveling Kit. It raises the front. Classic 3-inch and 4-inch Ram listings are separate products.
